Java testing tools fall into three areas: a unit testing framework, a richer test runner for complex suites, and a mocking library for isolating dependencies. Each has its own in-depth tutorial.
1. JUnit
The default unit testing framework for Java. See the full JUnit Tutorial for every example, from basic annotations to parameterized and dynamic tests.
2. TestNG
An alternative test framework with built-in support for test groups, dependencies and data providers. See the full TestNG Tutorials guide.
3. Mockito
The most widely used mocking library for Java, typically paired with JUnit or TestNG. See the full Mockito 5 Tutorial guide.
